Happy Anniversary Mom and Dad!!!

Today is my parent's 37th Wedding Anniversary. Yes, that two-digit number starts with a 3! I'm not sure how my Mom has done it! :)

I am very honored and very proud to have these two to call Mom and Dad. They have done so much for myself, my brothers, and my own family.

Here's hoping that they don't get bored today, since they just got back from a cruise last week!

Aly & AJ Concert

Wow what a show! Aly & AJ came to Wild Adventures over the weekend and they both put on a good show. The wife and I took Katelynn, while little man stayed home with Grandma. I was pretty familiar with Aly & AJ having seen their music videos on the Disney Channel - which is on at our house 24/7. And Aly had gotten her start of the Disney show Phil of the Future.

My wife and I expected your typical pop star act, but these girls can rock. They played either guitar or keyboard on almost every song. They even ended one song playing the bongo drums. The backup band was great, and the drum solo at the end was awesome.

Typical at Wild Adventures they actually expect you to sit down during the concerts. What ever! You can pretty much see the concert for free with admission to the park, but if you want to sit up close, you have to pay extra for reserved sitting. Well worth it if you want to see good. Though I will say the addition of two jumbo screens is nice and allows for those in the back to see the action.

I was able to get some really good pictures when everyone rushed the stage at the end. I almost got the guitar pick from Aly but got bum rushed by several screaming girls. Also tried to talk the security guard into handing me her bottled water. Told him I wanted to sell it on eBay but he wouldn't give. :)

We missed the first opening act - I don't even know who it was - and we just made it for the last couple of songs of the second opening act Brock Storm. He did pretty good and we saw him after the concert signing autographs. Oh yeah, and we just had to get Katelynn an Aly & AJ convert t-shirt. It was cool see Valdosta listed on there!

NBC Fears Itself

NCB has a new series that starts June 5th called "Fear Itself". Each episode will be a one hour movie. See the preview above for more info. I'm a little worried that this won't be as good as say "Tales from the Crypt" because it's on regular cable. We'll just have to wait and see. C'mon NBC scare me!

Diggnation Live!

Diggnation had a live taping last night with a live audience. I wish I could have been there but at least I was able to watch thanks to Tekzilla's Veronica Belmont and qik.com. It wasn't perfect due to networking issues, audio issues, and a major delay in the starting of the show, but it was fun nonetheless. Though the stream didn't last long - I think those of us in the chatroom killed their servers - it was fun while it lasted. Qik definitely got some free QA testing last night. Luckily Mooncricket over on justin.tv was streaming the after party. Now that was fun! Those of us in the chatroom had a blast watching the likes of "Waldo" and "Tie Guy" (sorry had to be there). We even saw Moon himself get down. It was great! I hope there are plans to do more of these in the future. Isn't technology great?! Many thanks to Veronica and Moon for allowing us to be a part of the Diggnation experience.

Aly & AJ

Aly & AJ are coming to town! They'll be here on June 21st at Wild Adventures, and the reserved seating just went on sale this morning. I went ahead and ordered our tickets today. I mean Katelynn has really been wanting to go so I....oh who am I kidding, of course I got tickets - it's Aly from Phil from the Future! LOL! What can I say, I'm a fan of the Disney TV and music stars lately. The wife and I couldn't stand those shows at first, but they've kind of grown on us and our Tivo fills up quickly. Our TV is tuned into the Disney Channel so much that the Disney logo is permanently burned into the bottom corner of the screen.

This is just the first concert premiering Disney stars. Later this year Raven and Corbin Bleu will be heading into town as well.

See ya there!
